ZHA Fire Committee Meeting 2024 Quarter 4 December 11, 2 pm 220 Mill Run Road

Members present: Mark, Suzanne, Erin, Forrest, Wayne, John

Old Business

Weed plan (grants) (we need to develop a plan of attack for our invasive weeds. Armando from Rio Grande county is glad to work with us at $150/hour. Our weeds are located in section B and C of the Colorado Noxious Weed book. Suzanne will try to find out what grants may be available from the Colorado Department of Agriculture)
next mitigation grant update (our application was accepted, however at a 50% matching rate. we will need to see what the final amount will be and adjust our project accordingly. We may have to eliminate the acres on private property. John will update the landowners)
northern escape route (based on wording in our permit, we can mark out the route. Wayne will get with Cooley to eyeball the route across tract A to see what work may need to be done)
defensible space map (Adam is still working on it)
air tanks (MHVFD can not get us a better deal that Air Gas. John will take the
tanks in for their inspection and refill)

New Business

next education post (stovepipe temperature?) (Suzanne will find an article)
current mitigation project status (Andrew has begun work)
budget status (we came out ahead for 2024 but can not offer any more property
owner grants until we see how we fare on the next grant)
next year projects (delineating greenbelt access, pulling project flagging, pulling old pouches) (all were approved)
find volunteers for the wood recovery lot burn
