Governance Committee meeting of July 30, 2025

    The third quarter meeting of the Zapata Homeowners' Association Governance Committee met at the home of Chair Erin Smith, 162 Cedar Ridge Road, at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

     Members present: Erin Smith, John White, Forrest Ketchin, Kim Jatkowski, Tanya Miller, Jennifer Nellinger. At the end of the meeting, they were joined by Wayne Ross and Nancy Staring Ross.

     Agenda topics: bylaws, fee schedule, attorney, general info for whomever becomes committee chair.

     Bylaws amendment had been set for a vote of the membership at the Aug. 2, 2025, annual meeting but because an agenda had not been included with the annual meeting notice, they can't be voted upon. At any rate, they need to be reviewed by an attorney and then by the board.

     The fee schedule will be up for a second reading by the board in August with a third reading in September before adoption. The schedule has been revised as per state statute.

     No new attorney yet. Responses have been nil. 

     Whoever becomes chairman of the committee will be brought up to speed if not on the committee now.

     Meeting adjourned about 5:30 p.m.
